New Publication Date
Third State Books has announced a new publication date for Tic-Tac-Toe Chicken — August 2025 — just in time for Back-to-School season in 2025. This date is a little later than originally planned, but still super-fast for publication of a picture book (two years is pretty standard, so I hear).

Given my grant writing background, I thought it might be helpful provide information about grants and tips for writing them to community leaders working to provide children with books and other resources such as author visits and literacy programs. Now offering…School Visits
Schools can now contact me about hosting me for an author visit! It’s a great way to get students interested in reading and writing, or even inspire them into writing careers.
This past month, I had the privilege of virtually visiting with 65 second-grade students in the Atlanta, GA area through a program arranged by the Highlights Foundation. We talked about the importance of research even when you write made-up stories, and I gave them a little history of the real story of the Tic-Tac-Toe Chicken that inspired my book. They asked great questions, and I had a wonderful time with them.
